7 – The Chariot

Card:  7 – The Chariot

Deck:  The Vertigo Tarot

Visual Description:  All we see of the charioteer in this image is hir hand.  The chariot is a rudimentary wheel, half unformed.  The horse that pulls it is reduced to a skeletal head and spinal column.  The background contains a 8 x 8 grid, parts of star charts (one clearly showing part of the Virgo constellation), notes in Latin, and other sketchy images.  This is by far the lightest card so far in the deck – the dominant colors are white and light blue – and yet the images are among the most disturbing.

Character Analysis:  I have no information on the Vertigo character this card references.  (In the future I’ll be leaving this section out unless I have something more than that to say.)

Astrological Attributions:  Sagittarius
